06 Aug Dr. John Bisagno on Writing Sermons
On Sunday, August 5, 2018, Dr. John Bisagno, the longtime pastor of Houston’s First Baptist Church went to be with the Lord. Dr. Bisagno was a preacher’s preacher and a wise pastor who invested in countless ministers and ministries during his lifetime. He authored many books including The Power of Positive Preaching to the Lost, Principle Preaching and Letters to Timothy: A Handbook for Pastors. Many years ago he recorded a talk that detailed how his preaching had changed and shared how he personally prepared his sermons. I pray that this post from this Southern Baptist hero will bless, encourage and equip you to be a better, more effective preacher in the mold of pulpit giants like Dr. Bisagno.
