Worth the Read – October 29, 2016

Worth-The-Read-October-29,-2016

We are quickly coming to the conclusion of the 2016 presidential election season. It is in some ways a bittersweet time for this political junkie. I know that this year’s campaigns have been more divisive, vulgar, hateful and corrupt than any in recent memory, but as a pastor and poli sci grad, these things confirm what I know about people in general and politics in particular. So, with that in mind, and knowing that we’re just a week and a half away from election day, I want to share several posts that either give reasons for Christians to vote correctly or advice on how to do so.  (I saw where one of my friends commented that pastors should be careful posting anything political because of the risk of being pigeonholed.  As a Christian preacher in America, I’m thankful that members of “the Black Robe Regiment”  didn’t take that approach.)  I’ve also included several posts that speak to the pastor’s leadership and preparation for preaching and a particularly interesting and helpful post by my former professor, Dr. George Guthrie, on the ministry of the psalms. Enjoy!
