06 Aug Sunday Preview – The Holy Spirit and the Christian
He’s been called “the most mistreated person in the church,” and “the neglected member of the Godhead.” He is the Holy Spirit, and unfortunately there is a great deal of ignorance and apathy towards Him in the lives of many Christians and churches today. The result of this ignorance and apathy can be clearly seen in the lack of understanding by many Christians on exactly what it means to be a Christian. It can also be seen in the lack of commitment, power and conviction in the lives of many of those who fill the pews on any given Sunday morning.
This coming Sunday, August 8th, I will be preaching a message entitled, “The Ministry of the Holy Spirit in the Life of the Believer.” ( I know it’s long title.) I really believe that this is one of those sermons that every single believer needs to hear at least once, and maybe even a couple of times.
Just so you’ll be ahead of the game, I’m even going to give you the scripture and the notes, as they stand now, so that you can come prepared to really connect with what God wants you to learn and do on Sunday.
“The Ministry of the Holy Spirit in the Life of the Believer”
2 Corinthians 1:21-22
1. He Establishes Us In The Body Of Christ.
Step 1 – Conviction: He convicts the lost man of his sin and He shows him that he needs a Savior.
Step 2 – Conversion: He gives us the gift of faith and He performs the miracle of the New Birth.
Step 3 – Communion: He takes the Believer and He makes him a member of the Body of Christ.
2. He Anoints Us For The Service Of Christ.
3. He Seals Us As The Property Of Christ.
4. He Fills Us With The Presence Of Christ.
I really hope and pray that God will use this simple, Bible message to help those who have are saved to begin to live and operate in the power that is available to them, and to save those who have never been born again by the Spirit of God.
I look forward to seeing you and your family bright and early Sunday morning. It’s going to be a GREAT day!
Pastor Brad
