18 Feb Sunday Preview – The Greatest Thing Jesus Ever Said
I’m excited, and at the same time nervous, about this Sunday morning’s message. As we continue in our study through the life and ministry of Jesus that we’re calling, “One Extraordinary Life” we’ll be looking at the most quoted, best loved verse in all of the Bible – John 3:16. I’m entitling this message, “The Greatest Thing Jesus Ever Said.” I’m excited about it because it is such a great verse of scripture and the truths are tremendous. God love. He sent. We believe. We live. Simple and straight to the point. However, there is an inherent danger in being so familiar with this verse that we fail to fully understand the tremendous truth in this simple yet powerful statement from the lips of our Lord.
Since this verse tells us about God’s love and great gift for mankind I believe that this will be a wonderful opportunity for you to invite and bring a lost or unchurched friend or family member with you. We will be baptizing again this Sunday morning (how many weeks in a row is that? A bunch!) and so there will be a powerful picture there also to portray what Jesus did for us and wants to do in us.
Also, Sunday night we will be ordaining Pastor Jerry Zapata. Pastor Jerry has been leading our Hispanic ministry since September and has done a wonderful job. He has a heart for the lost and to see people grow in their relationship with Jesus and his congregation has REALLY been growing too. PTL!
I’ll be preaching through an interpreter so say a prayer for me. Not that I’ll have any trouble preaching through an interpreter – I’ve done it many times before – but that I won’t have too long of a sermon. Think about it – everything I say the interpreter has to say as well. It’s going to be fun and there will be refreshments and a reception afterward.

I have often looked or studied the verse but have never been taught the verse. It was wonderful to hear a pastor preach the Word on such a level. Everyone from the Bible scholar to the young Christian can be blessed by this study. Thank you Brad for your leadership.
