29 May Sunday Preview – A Mirror Image Of America
As I prepare for tomorrow morning’s services and the message that the Lord has placed upon my heart, I’m thankful – so very thankful – for the nation that the Lord has so graciously allowed me to be born and live in. While She is not perfect, and although there are troubles which are apparent on every side (and growing within) she is still the “land that I love.”
If you are in town this weekend, make sure to be in both Worship and Bible Fellowship tomorrow. I really believe that the message that Lord has burdened me to preach is both a timely and needed message. In this message I will take a portion of Proverbs 30 and show both the problems that America is facing and her only course for cure.
There will be special presentations and celebrations in both services for those who have so bravely served and protected our nation. Come with a thankful heart and expect God to do something in and through us this weekend.
We will also be celebrating the ordinance of baptism in the second service, so come and be a part of this very special and spiritual time in the lives of these two young people.
So, with the thought of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the forefront of my mind, I want to pass this special reading on to you. May you be reminded of all that so many have given to secure our freedom.
“It is the VETERAN, not the preacher
Who has given us religious freedom.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trail.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the VETERAN
Who salutes the flag.
It is the VETERAN
Who serves under the flag.
‘Eternal rest grant unto them O LORD
And let Perpetual light shine upon THEM.'”
